251 Kgs of Waste Intercepted on International Cleanup Day

Lagoon Beach, Milnerton was in dire need of a cleanup this month! We teamed up with Rondebosch Boys Prep and headed to the shores with a crew of 210 people for International Cleanup Day, intercepting a whopping 251 Kgs of waste – despite the stormy weather! Our cleanups are part of the Parley Global Cleanup Network and are a great way to unite people from all different backgrounds to take action against the immediate threat of plastic waste. We even had the Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety (Minister Reagen Allen) join-in too! As you can see from the stats below, a huge amount of trash was retrieved, making days like this a constant reminder of our effect on our beautiful oceans and how important it is to educate the youth and have them participate in making positive change. Nothing beats seeing first hand what continuously washes up on our shores to make one aware of their purchasing and recycling decisions 💪🌊

Thank you to each and every person who joined us, including Rondebosch Boys Prep – It is never too late to take action #ForTheOceans and the future health of our planet and its people. And as always, also a massive shout out to our partners for their continued support 🙌:  Parley & Oceano Reddents
